The terrace had a parapet walk for the guards patrolling: we can still see the holes in which the supporting beams were set. This kind of parapet walk is quite rare: other examples can be found in a few castles in Valle d'Aosta. Not much remains of the works made in this time: due to a restoration in XVIth century, the interior settings and the ceilings changed and the wall paintings were covered with plaster.

One of the tower's most interesting details is a sundial situated just over the entrance door for the morning hours...

...as well as the sundial for the afternoon hours on the south side

 

Between 1420 and 1438 the more comfortable and modern "palazzo nuovo" (new palace) was built. Since then the tower was no longer permanently inhabited.
